PACLIB (C) Copyright 1993 by RISC-Linz

This directory contains the essential source code of the PACLIB 
system configured to run on Sequent Symmetry S81 multiprocessors 
under the operating system Dynix/ptx 1.3.1.

The PACLIB system is principally portable to other UNIX workstations 
and shared memory multiprocessors as well but we do neither guarantee 
this nor necessarily provide porting support.

Please note that the PACLIB system consists of three distinct parts
with different copyright agreements.

1. THE PACLIB KERNEL. The source code of the kernel is included in 
   this package and available free of charge by RISC-Linz on behalf 
   of the parallel computation group.

2. THE SACLIB LIBRARY. A modified variant of the library is included 
   in this package but subject to the copyright agreement expressed in
   the file COPYRIGHT.SACLIB. The authentic and stand-alone version of 
   SACLIB can be retrieved by anonymous ftp from ftp.risc.uni-linz.ac.at 
   (193.170.36.100) as pub/saclib/saclib.tar.Z. Future versions of 
   SACLIB may be incompatible to the variant used in the PACLIB system.

3. THE USYSTEM. The source code of the usystem is copyrighted by
   the University of Waterloo and thus not included in this package.
   The source code of the usystem can be retrieved by anonymous ftp from 
   watmsg.waterloo.edu (129.97.141.9) as pub/uSystem/uSystem.tar.Z.

The PACLIB user manual is available by anonymous ftp from
ftp.risc.uni-linz.ac.at (193.170.36.100) as pub/reports/parlab/pacuser.dvi.Z.
This directory also includes other PACLIB related reports and publications.

Users are kindly asked to cite their use of the system in any resulting
publications or in any application packages built upon PACLIB.

Neither PACLIB nor any part thereof may be incorporated in any commercial
software product without the consent of the authors. Users developing
non-commercial application packages are kindly asked to inform us.
